2. What data we process

Entered text, audio and images
When you submit text, a URL, an audio recording or a photo for analysis, this content is sent to our processing server (Google Cloud, region europe-west1). The server forwards the content to the following AI services:

Entered content is not permanently stored by us on the server. The server acts solely as a conduit to the aforementioned AI services.

We use the business APIs of these services. In doing so, entered content is not used to train AI models: this is the standard policy of Mistral AI, OpenAI and Jina when using APIs, unlike their free consumer versions.

Analysis history
Completed analyses, generated responses, quiz/Rebuttal results and badges are stored by default exclusively locally on your device. Optionally, disabled unless you turn it on yourself, you can link this history to your account, so you see the same data on your other devices. This data is then stored on our server (Google Cloud, region europe-west1), never used to train AI models and never shared with third parties. You can turn this on or off at any time via Settings → Account.

Usage statistics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to measure which screens and features are used (for example, starting and completing a quiz or practice session, generating a response, or reaching a credit limit). This is done via a pseudonym, a device-linked identification number: not linked to your name, email address or entered content. By default, Firebase Analytics also collects general device and app data (such as device type, operating system version, app version, language and country settings). This data is used to improve the app and not for advertising purposes. These statistics are enabled by default, but you can turn them off at any time via Settings → Data → Share usage statistics in the app.

Account and login details
To preserve your credit balance after reinstallation or device change, an account is required. You log in with Google or with your own email address and password, via Firebase Authentication (Google). When logging in with email and password, your password is stored as a secure hash by Firebase Authentication (Google) within our project: we never see or process the password in readable form. We store your email address and a unique account number, linked to your credit balance. This account is not linked to entered text, audio or images.

All communication between the app and our server is via HTTPS. Firebase App Check is used to verify that requests originate from the official Rhetoriq app.

6. Retention period and account deletion

Content you analyse (text, audio, photos, URLs) is forwarded via our server to AI services and not permanently stored by us. Opt-in history remains as long as your account exists and sync is enabled. Credits and account data remain as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or via rhetoriq.nl/en/delete-account. This will remove your history, credits and your Auth account.

7. Children

Rhetoriq is not intended for children under 13.

8. Changes

We may amend this policy. The most recent version is always available via the link in the Play Store.
