Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of these terms
By installing and using Rhetoriq you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree with (any part of) these terms, please do not use the app.
2. What is Rhetoriq
Rhetoriq is an app by AppDev020 that helps with analysing arguments, identifying fallacies, and formulating responses in discussions, using AI language models from third parties.
Rhetoriq does not provide legal, medical, or other professional advice. The generated analyses and responses are tools to assist with thinking about argumentation and do not replace your own judgement.
3. Use of the service
You agree not to use Rhetoriq to:
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise harmful
- Abuse the service through automated access, scraping, or excessive usage beyond normal personal use
- Attempt to circumvent the underlying AI services, servers, or security measures
Violations may result in restriction or blocking of access to the service.
4. Credits and payments
You start with a limited number of free credits. Extra credits are bought as one-time packs via Google Play: no subscription, no automatic renewal. Credits are used for analyses, replies, quizzes, practice sessions, and related features as shown in the app.
Purchases are handled via Google Play and are subject to Google's Play terms. This means, among other things:
- Credit packs are one-time purchases; nothing renews automatically
- The price shown in Google Play at the time of purchase applies; prices may change
- Purchased credits are personal, non-transferable, and valid only in Rhetoriq
- Unused credits have no cash value
5. Third-party AI services
Rhetoriq forwards entered text, audio, or images to third-party AI services (Mistral AI, OpenAI Whisper, Jina) to generate analyses and responses, transcribe audio, or retrieve article content. Details are set out in our privacy policy. These services may occasionally be unavailable, which may result in delayed or failed requests within the app.
6. Disclaimer
Rhetoriq is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- Analyses, fallacy recognition, or generated responses are always accurate, complete, or appropriate
- The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
You use Rhetoriq at your own risk.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, AppDev020 accepts no liability for any loss arising from the use of Rhetoriq.
8. Intellectual property
The app, including its name, logo, design, and source code, is the property of AppDev020. You are granted a personal, non-transferable right to use Rhetoriq for your own, non-commercial use. Reverse engineering, decompiling, or reselling the app without permission is not permitted.
9. Termination
You may stop using Rhetoriq at any time by deleting the app. Remaining credits expire when your account is deleted. We may restrict or terminate access to the service in the event of a breach of these terms.
10. Children
Rhetoriq is not intended for children under the age of 13.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The most recent version is always available via the link in the Play Store and within the app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law.
